AquaJets Win First Place Team at
Grass Valley Meet
The Chico AquaJets won the
“Penquin Plunge” High Point Meet this past weekend at
Bear River High School. They finished ahead of the close second
place team of California Capitol Aquatics out of Roseville and the
third place team Grass Valley Penquins. The AquaJets were led by
twelve year old Cydni Aird. Aird won the high point award in the
11-12 girls age group with gold medal finishes in the 100 yard
freestyle, the 200 yd backstroke, the 100 yd back, the 50 yd
breaststroke, and the 50 yd free; she earned silver in the 200 yd
breast, the 50 yd back, the 50 yd butterfly, and the 500 yd free;
she swam to bronze in the 100 yd fly. Madison Hopkins won the high
point award in the 9-10 girls age group with gold medal finishes in
the 100 yd fly and the 50 yd free; she swam to silver in the 50 yd
fly and the 100 yd back; she earned bronze in the 200 yd free.
Avery Santa Ana won the high point award in the 6 and under girls
age group with gold medal finishes in the 25 yd breast and the 100
yd free; she swam to silver in the 25 yd free, the 25 yd back, and
the 25 yd fly. Zachary Maxey won the 6 and under boys high point
award by winning gold in the 25 yd breast, the 25 yd free, the 25
yd back, and the 25 yd fly.
AquaJets also turning in gold medal
performances include Jose Cornwell, 10, in the 100 yd individual
medley, 50 yd back, the 50 yd fly, and the 100 yd fly; Sean Thomas,
12, won the 200 yd breast and the 500 yd free; Jacob Krause, 8, in
the 50 yd back and the 25 yd back; Daine Treff, 9, won the 500 yd
free; Jamie Deas, 8, in the 50 yd fly; Gabe Bettner, 8, in the 25
yd breast;
Also swimming to top three medal
finishes for the AquaJets were Grayson Aird, 9; Jon Carpenter, 10;
Kassandra Graham, 13; Ryan McGuire, 13; Brenna Murray, 6; Paige
Treff, 12; Harrison Wood, 7; Parker Wood, 9; and Kimberly
Wright,12.
The relay team of Jessica Deas,
Sydney Limberg, Jose Cornwell, and Madison Hopkins teamed up to win
the 10 & under girls 200 yd medley relay. The team of Daine
Treff, Jon Carpenter, Parker Wood, and Levi Logue won the boys 10
& un 200 yd medley relay. The team of Sydney Limberg, Caitlyn
Krause, Jessica Deas, and Madison Hopkins won the 10 & un girls
100 yd free relay. Grayson Aird, Parker Wood, Jon Carpenter, and
Daine Treff won the 10 & un boys 200 yd free relay. Paige
Treff, Kate Goldblatt, Keely-Shaye Johnson, and Cydni Aird won the
11-12 girls 200 yd free.

unattached, Darcie Anderson won the 15-16 year old girls high point
award by winning gold in 50 yd free, the 100 yd free, the 200 yd
free, the 100 yd back, the 200 yd back, the 100 yd fly, the 200 yd
fly, the 100 yd breast, the 200 yd breast, and the 200 yd I.M.
